Correnti Remains at 197lbs for Redshirt-Sophomore Season at Rutgers
State-champion Matt Correnti of Holy Cross was an NCAA qualifier and placed sixth at the Big Ten tournament as a true freshman.
Correnti's original plan was to redshirt his sophomore year and move up to heavyweight. But he couldn't put on the weight and Rutgers were just 12-23 at the 197lbs class, the worst weight class on the team, with him out of the lineup, according to Bill Evans of NJ Advance Media.
With Correnti back in the lineup at 197, he believes the Scarlet Knights could be a deeper team this year with Colucci at heavyweight.
