A West Virginia College Adds Wrestling, Names NJ Medalist Boland Head Coach
Director of Athletics Jamie Joss has announced the addition of wrestling as the 24th varsity sport offering at Davis & Elkins College on last Monday, as well as the hiring of Jerry Boland as the program's first head coach, according to InterMat Wrestling.
Boland was a New Jersey medalist in 1994, placing 4th at 112 pounds for Camden Catholic.
He went on to become an NCAA Division III All-American for Lycoming.
Boland coached at Camden Catholic and Cinnaminson.
He's been a USA Wrestling certified club coach and a New Jersey state certified high school wrestling official.
In 2016, he was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame.
