John Starcevich, a region champion a decade ago at 171 pounds, has been named the new head wrestling coach at Pennsville Memorial High School, according to Bill Evans of NJ Advance Media.
The 2008 alumnus has been coaching the Screaming Eagles for the past three years on the middle and high school levels.
Starcevich becomes the sixth coach in six years at the school. He replaces Jason Land, who resigned for family reasons after leading the Eagles to a 23-4 record in his lone season at the school.
Pennsville won the Tri-County Conference Classic Division title and reached the South Jersey Group 1 semifinals last season, and Senior Kody Wood reached the state finals, the first Pennsville wrestler to accomplish the feat in 23 years.
