Taking it back to an era when Division III wrestlers were allowed to compete in the Division I national championships.
Three-time NCAA DIII champions Ken Mallory of Montclair State and Jim Weir of John Carroll are two of the top five best DIII wrestlers of the 1970s.
Weir was a two-time NCAA DI All-American, and Mallory won a DI national title.
Four-time All-American Mike Rossetti of Phillipsburg, NJ, won two DIII national titles for Trenton State (now TCNJ).
Mike Jacoutot of Madison Central, NJ was a four-time national finalist and an NCAA champion for TCNJ.
